Alberta Driver's License
    • Moving to Alberta From Another Province:
      ° Out of province driver's license (which you will have to surrender)
      ° Secondary piece of ID
      ° Proof of your Alberta address
      ° A medical if your license is a Class 1, 2, or 4 or if your age is over 75

     • Moving to Alberta from USA:
      ° Out of province driver's license (which you will have to surrender)
      ° Proof of date first licensed
      ° Proof of your Alberta address
      ° Passport and Visa papers (the expiry date must be 3 months or more in the future)
      ° You will receive a Class 5 Driver's License that will expire on your birthday following the expiry date of your visa
      ° A medical if your age is over 75

    • Moving to Alberta from Outside North America:
      ° Out of province driver's license
      ° Proof of your Alberta address
      ° Passport and Visa papers
      ° Talk to a representative for further instructions

Alberta Vehicle Registration
    • To Register a vehicle in Alberta:
      ° Bill of Sale
      ° Proof of insurance
      ° Driver's License

     • To Register a vehicle in Alberta that came from another Province:
      ° Bill of Sale
      ° Proof of insurance











      ° Out of Province Inspection Form *

    • To Register a vehicle in Alberta that came from outside of Canada
      ° Bill of Sale
      ° Proof of insurance
      ° Customs import form
      ° Out of Province Inspection Form *

   * An out of province inspection form needs to be obtained from Alberta Registries before a mechanic can do an inspection on the vehicle.
